It's interesting that third parties are providing such extensions (e.g.
there's a 3rd party answering service as well as the video). But yes, this
is a good question.

and loads of other VoIP applications, Access GRID technologies such as VRVS,
other types of messaging such as Jabber, IRC, etc.
There'll be issues such as interoperability, functionality, user acceptance,
bandwidth, standards, open source, ... (Note, for example, that Skype is
proprietary ... But the open standards - SIP - is not, in fact very
interoperable according to a report which came out last week). There will
also be 'softer' issues such as privacy, confidentially, intrusiveness, etc.
