Places are still available on the following four Netskills workshops running at the University of Newcastle in January 2005:
1. Exploring XML (Jan 18th)
This practical workshop, aimed at experienced HTML authors,
introduces a wide range of exciting possibilities for using XML.
Topics include: What is XML? Creating XML documents, Using XSLT &
XPath for data transformations, Server-side XSLT, XML applications
including XHTML, SMIL & RSS.
2. Approaches to Web-based Content Management (Jan 19th)
Whether providing on-line content, managing a web-site or
running a multi-featured web service, an effective content
management strategy could save you time, effort and money. This
workshop introduces some of the key steps involved in putting
together an effective web content management solution.
3. Enhancing Your Web Pages (Jan 25th)
Further HTML, Style Sheets and Accessibility
A practical workshop for those who have mastered the basics of HTML
and wish create more exciting web pages. It focuses on the use of
CSS style sheets for enhanced presentation and HTML forms for
creating interfaces for user interaction. The workshop goes on to
explore the role of various interactive technologies in web
publishing.
4. Fundamentals of Flash MX (Jan 26th)
This practical workshop is aimed at web users who would like to
start using Macromedia Flash to create animated and interactive web
content. The workshop covers the fundamental aspects of Flash
including producing animation, developing interactivity and
publishing accessible movies.
