There are still places available on the following Netskills workshops
running at Manchester University:
1. CSS: A Complete Web Style Toolkit (21st June)
This new Netskills workshop offers a complete, practical
guide to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - the
standards-compliant to deliver professional-looking,
accessible and cost-effective web content. Aimed at web
users who are familiar with basics of HTML and now want to
further develop their own pages, participants will leave the
workshop equipped with a practical understanding of CSS.
2. Exploring XML (22nd June)
This practical workshop, aimed at experienced HTML authors,
introduces a wide range of new and exciting possibilities
using XML. Topics include: What is XML? Creating XML
documents, Using XSLT & XPath for data transformations,
Server-side XSLT, XML applications including XHTML, SMIL &
RSS.
3. Databases on the Web (23rd June)
This practical workshop deals with publishing database-driven
content on the web. It provides an overview of the tools and
techniques available and teaches the practical skills necessary
to use them. Topics covered include Microsoft Access,
Active Server Pages (ASP) and PHP with MySQL.
