Many thanks to Lucy Anscombe of Thames Valley University who recently
analysed search engine usage across UK University Web sites. Lucy informed
me of this work and gave permission for the findings to be published on the
UKOLN Web site. I carried out similar surveys from 1999-2003, so it is
useful to see how things have changed since then.
As can be seen from:
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/surveys/uk-he-search-engines/2005-07/
The main change seems to be that Google is now the most widely used search
engine, having replaced ht://Dig in top spot.
