Then there's also the hot-of-the-press new initiative from the W3C, the
Mobile Web Initiative (http://www.w3.org/2005/MWI/).
CC/PP seems to be dying a slow death for several reasons. No one can
agree on what a common set of browser capabilities are, and how to cope
with legacy browsers that wouldn't be able to identify their profile to
servers (although this could be overcome with browser sniffing as shown
by DELI). And of course then there's the real question the DI working
group have, how to author pages in a device independent manner - a
problem if solved well, will make big leap and bounds in the web world!
