Readership in Transport Studies
READER: Salary in the range £41,294 - £47,262 p.a.
The University intends to appoint a Reader in Transport Studies with effect
from 1 September 2006 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Readership will
be attached to a tutorial fellowship at St Anne's College.
Applicants should have a strong record of publication and research in fields
related to the research programmes of the School of Geography and the
Environment, and relevant to the inter-disciplinary area of transport
studies. Candidates with those qualities are especially encouraged to apply,
as are those with interests in topics such as transport and climate change,
the new technologies of transport; logistics and communication; mobility;
and the intersection between transport and the environment, energy, and
globalisation. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching at
the undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the School, and will be
required to direct the Transport Studies Unit (a research unit of the School
of Geography and the Environment) if so appointed by the Head of the School.
The university salary of the reader will be in the range £41,294 to £47,262
per annum. There will be additional remuneration and allowances from St
Anne's College in respect of the tutorial fellowship.
