RESEARCH ASSISTANT/OFFICER
Sustainability of Transport
This full time post is available from January 2006 for a fixed term of two
years initially, to work on a number of strongly interconnected projects
examining the potential to deliver enhanced sustainability of transport
planning and decision-making.
With a good first degree in geography, environment or planning and ideally
a postgraduate qualification or relevant experience, you should be
enthusiastic about developing your research skills in an applied context.
As member of the ITS Transport Policy and Appraisal Research Group, you
will contribute to several project teams led by Dr Greg Marsden, Dr Miles
Tight and Professor Tony May, which aim to examine means to overcoming the
barriers to achieving more sustainable transport systems at local,
national and European scale. The work is to be funded by EPSRC and various
European sources.
Proficient in IT, you should also have good written and verbal
communication skills, and preferably skills in information literacy.
Experience in working with large data sets and statistical packages (e.g.
SPSS ) is preferred.
Salary on Research Assistant/Officer scale (£19460 - £24820 per annum, pay
award pending) depending on qualifications and experience.
