Subject: DfT Horizons Research Programme, Call for Proposals 2005
I am pleased to inform you that the Department for Transport has now launched the Second Call for the DfT Horizons programme. This Call is specifically looking for innovative research projects investigating the handling and analysis of large transport related datasets.
The full Call notice is at http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_science/documents/page/dft_science_035520.hcsp
Innovative thinking is required about the future patterns of movement of goods and people and the researchers should investigate one or more of the following areas of interest:
access to very large data collections in a transport context;
the handling of such data;
the analysis and presentation of large data collections and their use to meet the requirements of DfT for information and planning.
The closing date for proposals to be submitted is 10 May 2005.
Enquiries about the scope of the programme should be addressed to myself on 020 7944 5033 or by e-mail to [log in to unmask]
Yours sincerely
