Dear all,
We have not, through our usual channels, received any nominations for the
two vacancies (for a three year period) on the UTSG Executive Committee.
Any candidate for a position on the Executive Committee must be a member
of the academic staff of an institution that is a full member of UTSG (a
list of full member institutions of UTSG is attached). Each candidate
should be proposed by a member of the academic staff of a full member
institution and seconded by a member of the academic staff of another such
institution. Each candidate should provide a statement confirming that he
or she has agreed to be nominated. These should be submitted by post.
The current definition of academic staff, adopted in the revised
constitution adopted at the Annual Business Meeting in York in January
1999 is:
“a person employed by a member institution to carry out transport-related
research, teaching or both, irrespective of length of contract”.
Any candidate who fits this definition is eligible for a position on the
UTSG Executive Committee including outgoing committee members.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Committee you should
discuss this with the UTSG correspondent at your institution (see
www.utsg.net if you are not sure a) whether your institution is a full
member and b) who your correspondent is).
Best regards
Greg
Hon Sec.
UTSG
