2. Agenda for GridPP15
======================
TD said that Jamie Shiers had been invited to attend and would give a
talk on plans for deployment in his area. TD asked if TC & JC could help
JS to organise this and assist with a breakdown and overview. TD said
there should also be middleware development summary talks on the agenda
as more focus was needed on interaction with experiments. He also said
that more understanding was needed of deployment planning linking into
Data Management by experiments and what they need. He said that Nick
Brook had given a talk on this at the GDB and he should be invited to
have a panel discussion with technical people from experiments. JC asked
about discussion groups and if one person representing each experiment
was sufficient. TD said that pre-arranged questions could be prepared
with one person allocated from each area to attend. He will send an
outline of the agenda after consulting with DK & RJ.
3. Dates for GridPP17
=====================
TD said that dates for this were now defined as being from March
19th-21st 2007 and the Kelvin Lecture Theatre had been booked.
See http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/meetings/
Student accommodation would not be available as this is during term time.
BS had been checking out hotel prices. The closest and largest venue in
the area is the Grosvenor but the special deal of 80 per night being
offered was considered to be too expensive. Alternatives are being
sought.
STANDING ITEMS
==============
SI-1 ALL: to provide any news items and meeting dates for the web page to SP.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SP said she had received a quote from JG on the EGEE conference. She also
has a draft press release on the webcast from CERN that PPARC will put
out later this week. She will then put this on the GridPP site. She
hopes to have a news item following JG (and others) attendance at
Supercomputing. The proofs from JPhysG have been received and she will
let us know when these will be published.
SI-2 Production Manager's weekly report of issues.
--------------------------------------------------
JC asked everyone to review the document Graeme Stewart had prepared for
presenting to the LCG Annual Review at CERN. TD suggested that the plans
for Tier-1 & Tier-2 should be included as well.
JC was looking into training being provided by Nesc and said that general
technician training courses are not being offered and that more support
was needed for this in particular with relation to g-Lite.
Security Challenges are ongoing but the response procedure has to be
reviewed.
SI-3 LCG Management Board Report of Issues.
-------------------------------------------
TD referred the board to the e-mail of input from Kors Bos (GDB)
SI-4 Documentation Officer's weekly report of issues.
-----------------------------------------------------
SB has been looking at the Deployment website and sent an email offering
suggestions to improve the links to make it easier for new users to
follow. TD forwarded an example of an (ATLAS specific) URL which gives
step by step guidelines for a "new student starting work". Further
discussion on this and also for having a recognised site for Googling
will take place between SB, SP & JC.

AOB
===
SL said he had used the NorduGrid user interface software for an ATLAS
job and he was able to download the file and submit the job easily.
Note: SB circulated the link for UIPnP (user space UI):
http://grid-it.cnaf.infn.it/index.php?userinterface&type=1
This was tested and shown to work by SL. Some discussions followed on RB
monitoring at the GOC. Plans are in hand to improve this with a dedicated
map for resource brokers.
SL also asked about the discussion they had several weeks ago in relation
to depreciation costs for hardware. TD asked him to provide depreciation
costs of Tier-2 outturns based on outcomes for Q4/2004-Q5/2005 (ACTION)
NEW ACTION 193.1: SL to provide depreciation costs for Tier-2 outturns
based on outcomes for Q4/2004-Q3/2005.
Note: a first draft was circulated shortly after the meeting by SL,
following discussion between SL, DB and TD.
