Hi,
I’ve been recommended to join the group, as members may be able to help with
some research I am doing.
The role of the railways during WW2 is quite well documented but does anyone
have any info about the role Black Fives played during the war?.
I can imagine their stamina and reliability would have been invaluable but
were there any specific roles or incidents that they were involved with?
I'd alos be intrested to know how many were built by the start of WW2 and
how many were finished between 39 and 45.
Any suggestions gratefully received
