Due to receiving a number of manuscripts on the subject of pro-poor tourism as well as recent debates on pro-poor tourism the editors of Current Issues in Tourism have decided to develop a special theme issue on issues, themes and the debates surrounding pro-poor tourism. We therefore would welcome receiving further submissions as either full papers or commentaries on the subject of pro-poor tourism. Papers are particularly sought that discuss issues of political economy and development theory that surround pro-poor tourism as well as more empirical work. In addition, papers are especially welcomed from colleagues that live in those countries in which pro-poor tourism development ideas are being practiced. Papers will be required by the end of January 2006 and can be submitted electronically or by hard copy.
If sent electronically, text should be saved in the author's normal word processor format (please give the name of the program used). Any Figures or Tables should be saved in separate files from the rest of the text.
Electronic submissions should be sent by e-mail attachment to [log in to unmask], with the covering message clearly stating the name of the journal Current Issues in Tourism, on CD-ROM, or on disc (IBM-PC compatible or high-density AppleMac) to The Editor, Current Issues in Tourism c/o Channel View Publications, Frankfurt Lodge, Clevedon Hall, Victoria Road, Clevedon BS21 7HH, England.
If hard copies are provided, four copies of the manuscript should be sent to this same address. Articles should be typed, double-spaced on A4 paper (or near equivalent), with ample left- and right-hand margins, on one side of the paper only, and every page should be numbered consecutively.
Colleagues may also wish to discuss potential submissions with the editors of the journal Chris Cooper or Michael Hall at either [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] respectively.
In addition to pro-poor tourism related matters colleagues may also be interested in issues surrounding access to tourism opportunities including issues of class, as well as related concerns of power, culture and gender. If colleagues are specifically interested in contributing to a debate on class and access matters in tourism could they please contact Michael Hall <[log in to unmask]> with their expressions of interest
regards
Michael
