University of Jyväskylä wishes to appoint a Post Doctoral Research
Fellow for 2,5 years to work on a project investigating brain
development and learning disorders. The research is supported by the
European Commission, 6th Framework Programme, through the Marie Curie
Research Training Network NUMBRA (Numeracy and Brain Development). The
network comprises eight laboratories: University College London,
Université Catholique de Louvain, INSERM 526 Orsay, University of
Padova, University of Trieste, Medical University Innsbruck, RWTH
Aachen, and the University of Jyväskylä. More information about
participating teams can be found on the NUMBRA website
http://math.nmi.jyu.fi/numbra/.
The Research Fellow should have a degree and further research
experience to PhD level in psychology, neuroscience, or related
disciplines, with a special interest in and have carried out research
in cognitive neuroscience. Good experience in neuroimaging methods is
highly desirable (candidates will have an excellent opportunity to work
with MRI, fMRI and ERPs).
The area of interest of our lab in this project is the comorbidity of
reading and numerical disabilities in children. You can find
information about our longitudinal project "Jyväskylä Longitudinal
Study on Dyslexia" from http://www.jyu.fi/humander/dyslexia.shtml.
