If I remember correctly, prm can either be the name of your *_sn.mat file,
(e.g. 'a:\directory\somewhere\XXXX_sn.mat'), or it can be the structure
obtained by:
prm = load('a:\directory\somewhere\XXXX_sn.mat');

I'm afraid not.

It is the same as:
d1 = VT(j).dat; % Take the 3D array of unsigned bytes stored in 'dat' field
d2 = double(d1); % convert it to double precision
d3 = d2/255; % divide by 255 as the original data was scaled by 255
spm_write_vol(VT(j),d3); % Write it to an image file as specified by VT(j)
