Dear SPMers,
We would like to create a SPM template using cg_create_template.m, which is
a piece posted at the VBM tools ( <http://dbm.neuro.uni-jena.de/vbm.html>
http://dbm.neuro.uni-jena.de/vbm.html). Although cg_create_template.m
creates segmented images, we would like to use segmented MRI created outside
of cg_create_template.m for the following reasons. Our MRI data were
originally acquired in coronal orientation. Segmentation by SPM2 or
cg_create_template.m does not work so well on transverse images created from
the original coronal images. In addition, SPM2 segmentation works quite
well by processing coronal data obtained by 4 different pulse sequences.
Therefore, we would like to segment MR images outside of
cg_create_template.m.
cg_create_template.m has two options, 1) segment images and create template
and prior images or 2) use previously segmented images to create template
and priors. Selection 2) appears to be our choice. However, because this
option requires normalized T1 weighted MRI in addition to normalized
segmented images, we are unsure if cg_create_template.m creates templates by
using segmented images we created outside of cg_create_template.m. How are
normalized T1 weighted MRI and normalized segmented images processed in the
second option of cg_create_template.m? We want to use segmented image
created outside of cg_create_template.m.
We greatly appreciate your help.
Sincerely,
