Image Analysis Research Associate
Analysis Group, Oxford University Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain
(FMRIB)
Salary: RS2 II £27,116 - £35,883
The FMRIB Analysis Group is a large, dynamic group of engineers,
mathematicians and programmers, generating new research and software for
use in analysis of brain imaging data from structural and functional MRI.
We require a postdoctoral researcher to carry out research in mathematical
modelling of functional MRI data, in the areas of timeseries analysis,
spatial processes, independent component analysis and Bayesian methods.
This research will form part of an ongoing project to fuse model-based
methods with model-free (such as ICA) approaches in order to better
understand the rich spatiotemporal signal and noise processes in FMRI
data.
The successful applicant will have a first and a higher (e.g., doctoral)
degree in a relevant engineering-oriented subject, with strong research
and programming experience. The post is to start in November or December
2005, and will run initially for 3 years, with the possibility of
extension. The starting salary will be in the range £27,11-£30,363UK
pounds (University Grade RS2 II), however less experienced scientists will
also be considered and if successful will be appointed on University Grade
RS1(A) (starting salary £20,54-£25,6 UK pounds). Further particulars are
available from the Departmental website www.clneuro.ox.ac.uk. For more
information regarding the FMRIB Analysis Group's research see
www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/analysis. Applications, including a CV and details of
three referees who may be contacted prior to interview, should be sent to
Mrs Marilyn Goulding, FMRIB Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headley Way,
Oxford, OX3 9DU: Fax 01865 222717; email [log in to unmask], quoting
HM-05-009. The closing date for applications is 21 October 2005.
