Hi Daryl, list,
in linux it helped for us when we replaced all the figure renderers to 'painters' (instead of zbuffers). There were quite some reports on the list, with detailed fixes, see for example:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind04&L=SPM&P=R56119&I=-3
I've heard that OSX is a *nix system, so the same trick might help you as well.
Also, starting matlab with 'matlab -nojvm' helps a lot with respect to java errors or instabilities. Does anyone know if the java issues are solved by the Mathworks by now? They are kind of irritating ...
good luck,
Bas

Onderwerp: Re: [SPM] Lockup when entering numbers in SPM interface on
Mac G5 with OSX 1.4.2
SPM users,
I am having trouble running SPM on a Mac G5 with OSX 1.4.2.
First, MATLAB would crash shortly after coming up. I solved that by
re installing QuickTIme 7.0.1 (replacing QT 7.0.2).
Now, MATLAB and SPM come up OK and I can load and DISPLAY an image
volume. I can also move the image planes in the 3-D projection of
the image volume. However, when I try to enter any numbers, for
example, in the yaw box to rotate the image, SPM and MATLAB freezes!?
Does anyone know of a fix?
Daryl
