Dear Nico,
it seems that
1) before the 'CD' command you are in the SPM5b software folder
2) you want to 'CD' somewhere else
3) the SPM5b software folder is not in your MATLAB search path.
In this case, everything will work fine as long as you are in the SPM5b
software folder. However, as soon as you try to select any other folder as
your working directory, MATLAB will not be able to find the SPM related
program files any more. You have to edit your MATLAB search path and add
the SPM5b software folder to it (using addpath/editpath/rmpath).
Be careful, that you don't accidentally mix up files from different SPM
versions in the path. MATLAB takes always the first match for a file on
the path - so if e.g. some locally modified SPM2 files would live in a
directory searched before your SPM5b directory, things would break very
badly.
