Use the normalise button, and set Nonlinear Frequency Cutoff to Infinity, or
Nonlinear Iterations to zero will work (possibly).

My documentation is wrong. It should have said "both with (mwc*) and without
(wc*)".

I haven't been able to replicate this problem using Matlab 7.0.1 on Linux.
What platform are you using, and which version of Matlab?

The template images are smoothed by 8 mm, so downloading at 1mm resolution
would not seem to be worthwhile.

We don't release these as part of SPM because they would make the distribution
much larger and may cause problems fo people downloading SPM.

Try the setting the position of the crosshairs to [0 0 0] mm.
