Hi John,
I would hesitate to send the SPM2 modifications to you, since I am using a
heavily customised version of SPM2 and cannot guarantee that these
versions will work in standard SPM2.
Under Linux/Unix/MacOSX/cygwin this basically involves grep'ing and
sed'ing SPM to replace all instances of sprintf(.*)*ones(X,Y) by
char(sprintf...). The attached shell script should do just that, if
invoked in a writeable SPM software dir (it should work for SPM99 as well
as for SPM2). You should better test it before applying it to your
production release, since it is cut&pasted from my shell history...
