The Octave port for WaveLab is not issued/recognised by the WaveLab
developers (because it does not work, or at least far from completely).
I can see why you would like to have SPM running on Octave, but as long
as there is no input/support from the SPM developers on how to do this,
it might not be worth all the time it will cost. The only bit that is
portable is the non-GUI bit, and you will need to separate that from the
rest.
AFAIK, the FSL program FEAT uses the same method as SPM, so if you want
a free solution that may be a much quicker way to start.
