RESEARCH AIDE, Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology, Cornell
Medical College, New York City, New York
DESCRIPTION: The selected applicant will be involved in many facets of
cognitive neuroscience research. This is an ideal position for gaining
experience in the field with an eye on graduate school in psychology,
neuroscience or cognitive science. Our lab is currently involved in several
projects involving language and attention across development.
ACTIVITIES include acquisition and analysis of behavioral and neuroimaging
(fMRI) data; development of tools to aide in analyses; coordination with
research staff. Secondary responsibilities include recruitment and screening
of study volunteers, both children and adults; technical/computer assistance;
development and programming of behavioral tasks; minor administrative duties.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive
Science, Computer Science or related field required; experience in
Linux/UNIX, PC and Mac environments essential, as is some programming
experience and working knowledge of word processing, graphics, and
statistical software packages; background in Cognitive Neuroscience,
some programming experience, and ability to work well with children
helpful; strong organizational and communication skills. Applicants
for the research aide position should be prepared to make a commitment
of at least 1 year. Compenation commensurate with experience.
