Hi,
This error comes when you have Control System toolbox installed as part of your Matlab installation!!
Type 'which ss' at the prompt (without quotes), you should see something like this
C:\MATLAB6p5p1\toolbox\control\control\@ss\ss.m
You should make sure that Matlab path should not have the following entry
C:\MATLAB6p5p1\toolbox\control\control
You can do this either by using editpath or editing the C:\MATLAB6p5p1\toolbox\local\pathdef.m file
Actually, spm_uw_estimate.m uses the variable name SS (sum-squared error over iterations). But since Control System toolbox is also installed, and it has a matlab function called ss (for creating state-space model), hence the error.
Hope this help fixing your problem
Regards
+ahm
