Fellow listmembers,
I would be interested to hear how those who work with elder patient
populations correct the SPM2 segmentation errors produced by often seen
periventricular white matter hyperintensities. When segmenting standard
MPRAGE images, I've noticed that hyperintense regions (confirmed with
co-registered FLAIR images) tend to be mistakenly classified as cortex
and/or skull.
Additionally, any tips on how to then gain volumes for these excluded
hyperintense regions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm assuming that masking would help, but given the time involved to do this
by hand, I'm hoping that someone knows of a short-cut.
Regards,
Jeff Browndyke
