Image analyst post at the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, UK.
Applications are invited for the post of Image Analyst within the
Neuroimaging Research Group, Department of Neurology, headed by Prof. Steve
Williams.
We seek a highly motivated person to develop and optimise a variety of image
analysis applications in the field of preclinical MRI. The post-holder will
be involved in structural, functional and pharmacological MRI projects. A
particular emphasis will be placed on translating the existing, in-house
neuroimaging expertise to fulfil the specific requirements of preclinical
applications.
Specific applications of interest include semi-automated and automated
methods for analysis of lesion evolution, voxel-based morphometry,
statistical parametric mapping of responses to sensory and pharmacological
stimuli and the integration of MRI with other imaging modalities (e.g. PET,
histology and autoradiography).
The candidate is expected to have a strong background in image analysis and
a keen interest in application and translation of contemporary image
analysis methodology to preclinical studies. Previous experience in MRI and
neuroimaging is preferred but not essential. Experience of Matlab and SPM
programming would be advantageous as well as proficiency in UNIX OS and C
programming. The candidate will be encouraged to present and publish his/her
own research achievements as peer-reviewed publications and at international
conferences.
