Dear list,
I have a set of n points, which I want to find the corresponding anatomic
labels for.
I thought to use Talairach Daemon (TD), with the following recipe:
1. Normalize the data to any of the templates (for instance T1) – to get
FLAIR_sn.mat / affine matrix displayed in figure
2. Apply the transformation matrix on the set of points - to get the points
in MNI space.
3. Converting MNI coordinates to Talairach coordinates using a non-linear
transform (by mni2tal.m described in http://www.mrc-
cbu.cam.ac.uk/Imaging/Common/mnispace.shtml)
4. Use Talairach Daemon to get labels
Is this correct?
I’m not sure especially about section 2:
• Will using only the affine matrix give accurate enough results?
• If not how can I use the Tr basis functions?
• Reading the archives I understand that matrix "Affine" maps from
voxels in the template image to those in the original, whereas the matrix
displayed in the figure (Q) is a mapping from a mm space in the original to
mm in the space of the template.
Does this mean I need to multiply (Q*[3Xn original coordinate Matrix]) or
should I use the inverse of Affine
Would you be able to recommend any other more accurate approach?
I would really appreciate any advice.
Many thanks,
Ayelet
