Dear SPMers,
Our group is using fMRI to image a region of interest during a gradual (40 minute) change in physiological state (e.g., sleepiness), with the hypothesis that the relevant ROI should activate at a critical timepoint when the physiological state changes sufficiently. The subjects receive no cognitive stimuli during this time--just pure, physiological change. If there are no apparent "conditions" to load into SPM, how might we analyze the data? We are comparing results in a control and clinical population. The basic questions we wish to answer:
1) When (in each group) does the ROI activate? (either specified in time or scans)
2) What are the differences (in time and magnitude) between groups?
I am currently using SPM2. We also have IDL data available that provides a graph for each subject over the 40-minute interval, indicating the time points where there are activation peaks (although it doesn't tell us where this activation is).
Any thoughts?
