The Department of Forensic Mental Health Science at the Institute of
Psychiatry, King's College London (headed by Prof. Sheilagh Hodgins)
invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral researcher.
The post-holder will work with a group of senior scientists on a programme
of research designed to identify the neurobiological correlates of
persistent violent offending. The post-holder will be supervised by
interdisciplinary staff from the Dept. of Forensic Mental Health Science,
the Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences, and the Dept. of Psychology at the
Institute of Psychiatry. He/she will be responsible for conducting brain
imaging assessments (fMRI, sMRI, and ERP) and neuropsychological
assessments on violent offenders.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Psychology,
and experience in collecting and analyzing event-related potential data and
structural / functional MRI data. For this role, experience of conducting
research in secure (forensic) settings, and in recruiting research
participants, is preferred. Ideally, candidates should be familiar with
programming in Matlab, and in designing imaging paradigms.
Starting salary will be in the range £22,367 pa to £27,888 pa (inclusive of
£2,323 pa London Allowance), depending on qualifications and experience.
