Hmm I started to read the top of the quote and
thought 'god this guy is so smart', then I got to
the bottom and realized who wrote it.

I still stand by the assertion that people will
look back on how we did science 50 years ago and
think 'The methods they used to run science*
where so haphard its surprising they got anything
done'.
Not the science its self but the methods that where used to 'manage' science.
