I just read these emails because I am no longer in any active research life (in fact I am
currently unemployed, which is partly due to becoming over educated and under experienced,
something that intensifies as you get older).
I did small scale studies in two churches, looking at mainly teenagers, leaders and beliefs, in
a fairly traditional Methodist church and evangelical led Anglican church, and generalised by
saying something like if church groups are like these who are going to be left as tomorrow's
leaders - what kind of beliefs do they express? But all you can say is, "In this case, at this
time, with these events, this happened." Nevertheless in the story that unfolded in each case
you try to identify a dynamic going on and that dynamic is the generalisation.
On my website there is the Learning Area (top menu) and on the left menu Social Science
and then My Academic Work - a page that accesses the academic work I could put online
(some also available via the Learning - Religion menu).
