A PhD studentship has become available in the Speech and Language Therapy
Division, EPS Department, Strathclyde University, Glasgow. This grant is
awarded by Ataxia UK.
The project proposes to carry out a detailed investigation of intonation and
rhythm in ataxic dysarthria and would suit an SLT or linguistics graduate.
Prior knowledge of acoustic analysis and prosodic transcription systems (in
particular ToBI) would be valuable. The PhD will be supervised by Dr. Anja
Lowit (Strathclyde University, Glasgow) and Dr. Ineke Mennen (Queen Margaret
University College, Edinburgh).
The studentship consists of a maintenance award of £10,000 per annum over 3
years plus fees.
