CALL FOR PAPERS
The 17th European Simulation Symposium and Exhibition
Co-located with I3M 2005
20 - 22 October, 2005
Marseille, France
Objectives and Scope
The 17th European Simulation Symposium and Exhibition will take place in
Marseille, France. This year the Conference will be co-located with I3M,
attracting an even larger simulation community thanks to the new
co-operation
between IMCS and the new SCS Europe Council, two major SCS Simulation
Councils.
The main target of this agreement is to create a framework for
supporting
real networking and cooperation among scientist, technicians and users.
One of our goals for this ESS'05 is to attract and motivate simulation
users
to present their innovative contributions where simulation techniques
has been
used to fill the gaps when solving new challenging problems.
Topics
Topics of interest concern the use of simulation techniques to solve
challenging problems, the use of simulation as decision support tool,
and advances
in R&D in the area.
The Symposium will be divided into six tracks which are intended to
cover the
range of interests of participants. In all tracks, a special joint
effort is
expected and encouraged in:
ˇ Cutting Edge projects: Application of simulation to new fields
ˇ Integrating approaches: coupling formal/theoretical instruments
with simulation models and results
ˇ Cross-methodological research: comparing data from real phenomena
with simulation findings
Tracks
ˇ Simulation in Manufacturing
ˇ Simulation for the Industry Services
ˇ Supply Chain Integration and Extended Enterprises
ˇ Simulation in Business, Economy, Finance and Commerce
ˇ Distributed Simulation
ˇ Simulation for Social Sciences
Submission and Publication
The working language of the conference is English. All submissions are
to be
made electronically through the web. Only original papers together with
Work-in-Progress and Industry practice written in English will be
considered
for revision (6 pages, double column, single spacing). The accepted
papers will
be published in the proceedings which will be available at the
conference.
Best papers will be considered for publishing in a special issue of the
International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling.
In the particular case of the Simulation for Social Sciences track,
best papers will be considered for publishing in a special section of
the
Journal of Artifical Societies and Social Simulation.
Paper Acceptance
Each accepted paper must be presented at the conference by one of the
authors.
The final manuscript must be accompanied by a registration form and a
registration
fee payment proof. All conference attendees, including authors and
session
chairpersons, must pay the conference registration fee, and their
travel expenses.
