Dear colleges,
I am looking some studies on oil prices for short and long term.
About one year ago, with oil prices at ~US$ 35.00/barrel, the
Goldman&Sachs Investment Bank released a study quoting oil prices at
US$ 60.00/barrel. Few believed in such hypothesis. Some weeks ago,
in the future markets (Aug/Sep/2005), the prices rose to about US$
62.00/barrel.
On March 2005, Goldman&Sachs released another study quoting oil at
up to US$ 105.00/barrel already in this year:

And a less know study, made by Ixis CIB Investment Bank quote oil at
US$ 380.00/barrel (yes, US$ 380!) in ten years, by 2015:

Ten years is a single life-cycle for an asphalt pavement.
The asphalt cement prices will rise at the same speed as oil and, at
the same time, the asphalt cement quality will drop. That can become
the main threat for the pavement industry and countries roadway
infrastructure in coming years.
Are the asphalt pavement community (engineers, researchers,
companies, ...) ready to this challenge?
