No, the Harwich service finished first, round about Christmas 1987. I
was at Railfreight International at the time and I remember the
financial pressure we were under to make economies in the running of
train ferry services.
One issue was the fact that two ports of entry to Britain meant two sets
of train services to take wagons inland.
The Dover service continued until 1996, after Channel Tunnel services
had started.
