List members may find the following event of interest:
Cambridge Science Festival, 16-23 March
The theme for the 2005 Science Festival is 'Time Travel'. From Archaeology
to Zoology, scientists and students will offer activities exploring
millions of years of the earth's history. Participants will also be able to
'travel into the future', looking at the possibilities of science fiction
becoming a reality, exploring advances in medical science and technology.
Be alarmed by some of the Daleks, Dr Who monsters and creatures from outer
space who will be roaming around!
Most of the family events take place on the weekend of March 19-20. Blue
Peter's Konnie Huq will open Science on Saturday at 10am, March 19, at The
Courtyard, Downing Site, University of Cambridge.
Evening lectures are also offered as part of the programme during the week.
To mark Einstein Year, Professor Malcolm Longair will give a special
lecture at 7.30pm, March 18, recreating some of Einstein's key experiments.
