A classic case of a clever name losing the message.

I defy anyone to understand what NOISE is all about from the message sent to
this list.

EPSRC's NOISE Campaign web Site would be useful for people interested in
science communication, they could be future NOISE role models..

While everyone is talking about getting starting in science
communication...

We've held the first two rounds of FameLab auditions, which have gone
really well, and exceeded our expectations for numbers of participants.
The judges have been very impressed with the quality of participants
turning up, and it's been a good opportunity for networking and finding
new speakers for science communication. One of the main aims of this
competition has always been to get more people working in science to
think about engaging the public, and we're keen not to 'lose' the people
who've put in all the effort required to audition, even if they didn't
make it as a finalist.

I'm going to be emailing everyone who takes part and also all those who
registered their interest with us (about 1000 people so far) to let them
know about other opportunities to get involved in science communication.
And while of course I'll let them know about the psci-com database, the
BA, Setnet, Café Scientifiques, ABSW etc, I wondered if there was one
website I could tell them about that gives them a crash course in the
whole area (and links to everyone else)? Does this exist, or is
psci-com.ac.uk the closest thing we have (which is a fantastic database,
but it helps if you know what you're looking for)?

Please let me know if I'm missing something obvious. I had someone
phone me today so I talked him through all the different ways he could
get involved, but I'd rather not do that individually with everyone!
