Sounds like a great project.
Have you tried http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/type/type_scientist.html ?
Plenty of quotes there. I don't know if any would be suitable.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Inspirational quotes from/for women in science
Hello All,
I am running a workshop for inner city middle school (11-14yrs) girls in the
US, designed to
get them interested in science and technology. I'd like to start with an
inspirational quote,
ideally from a woman scientist, to get them engaged, but haven't found
anything quite right.
They're of very differing experiences, all young American women, and the
workshop is on
microbes and diseases.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful!
Thanks,
Martha
