The first Science Festival Fringe is coming to Edinburgh in April 2006!
This is a volunteer-run event, and we need help with ideas, organisation
and general talent. If you think you can help please get in touch!
Even if you don't think you have time but have an good idea, we still
want to hear from you. And please, tell anyone else you know who you
think may be interested.
THE AIM OF THE FESTIVAL:
* To provide an accessible platform for novel ways of presenting and
interpreting science, open to anyone who wants a chance to try out
their ideas
* To reach an audience from the 15-35 age range that is typically not
reached by traditional science festivals
To achieve this we want to avoid straight "science talks" and encourage
unconventional, edgy, crazy or just weird ideas. We want events to be
entertaining and amusing with a twist of science.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The founders and organisers of the Edinburgh Science Fringe are a group
of volunteers, mostly working scientists.
The Edinburgh International Science Festival are working closely with us
to help make this event a success. We now need to find our performers
and to get some community participation - we're very keen to find people
who can help in one of the following ways:
* Talent - exhibitors, performers, artists, etc.
* Organisers, evangelisers, movers and shakers
* Ideas and leads - we need your input!
