Me too. Obviously I shall have to re-up to Truthout. Either they pay
the Times or they have a crack-code to get at the subscription stuff.
Update to my corporate allusion this morning. The story is now that we
will hear our fates on about 12/15. One thing is clear to me--stay or
go, this firm is dead or should be. My "source" told me there is no
morale or loyalty left. People cannot work together to bring in revenue
from government defense sources that also are in disarray. If you have
ever seen scientists "teaming," the expression Herding Cats should come
to mind. If it were an opera, the baritone would want to sing the
soprano's music and she doesn't know her own let alone his.
Years ago MAD magazine put out a book called "The Mad Adventures of
Captain Klutz." In one set of panels, the "hero" is saying "I was
dreaming I was in a sleazy hotel." Holes in the wet mattress, roaches
crawling around. Outside the window in his dream is a sign: Hotel
Sleazy. When he wakes up he's in the same room, wet mattress and
roaches, and with the same sign outside.
Welcome to Corporate Reality. Viva Che:-).
