I shall do so. I truly wish that what Mr. Adams wrote would come to
pass. But who do you think will really suffer from this? Gordon Adams,
who wrote it: he is a (gasp) Clintonista, and might as well reconcile
himself to a radio campaign of absolute vilification and slander ("Send
in Miss Coulter, please"). GWU will be made to feel it if they used to
get so much as a thin dime from the Federal government. The Baltimore
Sun, that printed it: watch for one of their investigative reporters,
albeit on a totally unrelated assignment, to be sent to jail a la Judith
Miller. Punishment is always dispensed. Any big business does this:
and Bush surely learned SOMEthing at HBS besides how to do lines so he
could drink more. He learned that government is a big business, not a
means to make, interpret, and apply laws. He learned that when a Big
Business screws up, nobody at the top falls on his or her sword. They
get other people do fall on their own swords instead. Hence, that
little jackanapes who ran FEMA--I can't even remember its name! There
will be more.
By the way, why do I keep thinking of Dick Cheney as Lavrenti Beria?
Something's wrong there....
