Jill,
Somehow in the mix of fun n games n pomes this past week, I missed letting
you now my delight with "Jones from the sick bed."
I'll try---tho not trying to be awkward--- nevertheless awkwardly, to say
what you wrote that built my mood.
Well, gosh, nope, can't do it! I can only tell you that your words sent me
back decades, via a sickroom, to the REAL life I knew---and which I crave
and therefore cradle inside me. Certainly, others feel the same and have
appreciated your beautiful/shocking poem. Evocation's an intriguing
"poetics" topic. In the instant case: How did your words manage to flip me
back 50 years?
And then p'raps one of the trickiest of pome manifestations----a blasting
ending. Your last line screeched me forward those same 50 years . . . and,
oddly, forced from me culpability in this lately world's loss of magic.
Warmest and best,
Judy
