Patrick, thanks so much.
The doors actually are fom Maisons-Laffitte, outside Paris, one from an ancient stable, the other from Le Château de Maisons-Laffitte built by architect François Mansart. Hiding along the tumble of maple leaves is bits of Lobelia pattern from an old piece of G. Phillips Longport stoneware. The faces beneath the circular door are contemporary fashion models. There are also a trio of French? gendarmes mucking about the lower middle.

Peter /alison As an old architect (long since escaped) this image appealed
thanks esp the way the doors were solidly built in and the tiny figure for
scale /key
and have set it up as my screen saver
an added dimension are the icons which further break down the poem and
overlap the image -am looking forward for the next one
cheers P
ps whose are the faces below the circular door???
Stonework reminds of Italian baroque landscape park -where was it??
Ppps wonder how it would be in colour-or even the poem scattered over the
image (probably too long??
