The argument that scientific theory and pre-scientific mythology are
equally matters of "belief" - that no rational procedure can be
employed to discriminate between them - is of wide-ranging
applicability. Woo-woo men of every stripe resort to it when cornered.
Is that the best that Creationist apologetics can manage - a defensive
nihilism, equally accomodating to believers in Astrology, Dianetics
and trickle-down economics?
