The American criticism is the article looks like a bit of PC. The testerone
research, which is still preliminary and will need some backup when they
identify genes, looks a very good possibility. But that is a minor part of
the book which makes a very solid case if you have some grasp of statistical
theory and understand the implications that the male and female brain dont
necessarily exist in a male or female body.
For Dominic theoretically the balanced brain can have both extreme
systemizing and extreme empathizing qualities. He doesnt mention the fact in
the book but you can deduce it from a diagram. From his discussion of
Aspergers Syndrome I seem to have many of the symptoms but I am also much
empathic so perhaps I am in that direction. There are quizes at the end of
the book but I am useless at testing myself. You give the impression of
being systematic in your thoughts on this thread.
Regarding poetry and drama and why I think a female mind (perhaps in a male
body) would be superior was brought to me by seeing that theory of mind is
much related to the combination of verbal skills and empathising which women
are capable of (I think the man would have to be lefthanded).
AmazonUK are selling the book dirtcheap so anyone interested should buy a
copy. I havent got the verbal skills or ability to summarise.
