ralph hawkins would probably make tough eating. Andrew Duncan described him as
the bad lieutenant of british poetry. He was also a founder member of the Essex
School.
From The Coiling Dragon published by equipage and undated but probably about 4
years ago.
In answer to a question by Degas
Mallarme's reply
one does not make a poem
like a pudding
spotted dick
golden syrup
mousse chocolat
in what order
weigh it out
or ready mixed
or expoxy resin
or central planning
a theory of leakage
the menu, so to speak
the courses
its hard soft shell shining
its sick little legs
its skinny protruding mismatch
The book is full of other references to food and cooking
the whelk speaks
the wok talks
and from RANDOM EYES
The sky is full with a blue skillet moon
Who put the red cayenne sun grease on your lips
the heavens are one layer cake ninefold
I can't stop reading the book now.
