I've not got around to getting 'Speech! Speech', and must rectify that
omission. But I do have 'The Triumph of Love', and also 'The Orchards of
Syon', 2002's offering, which speaks very directly to me. Clearly, I must
now get 'Scenes from Comus'.
Incidentally, last year I had the chance to attend a 'performance' of the
BBC tapes of of Hill's 'Mercian Hymns'. As I came out of the hall, wishing I
had someone with me to discuss it with, I saw two women chatting, and moved
closer to eavesdrop on their assessment, only to find that one was saying to
the other-- 'I think I might go home and feed the neighbour's cat -- I said
I might, and the cat doesn't mind.' Wish I knew whether the cat ended up
starved or over-fed!
