Bakhtin and *Levinas*? Interesting combo.
The thing about the Saying, capital "S", is Levinas - he talks about
"the Saying" and "the said", the Saying as the irruption of the Face
into discourse, the uncertain moment of the enigma, which appears
unexpectedly amongst the positivities of organised language. I can see
how that might relate to Bakhtinian dialogics, but it's still a
disconcerting juxtaposition.
Sounds like an interesting book...
