> Janet what's metalmix --old P
Just a word I made up to almost-rhyme with "licks".
I like making up words! and didn't want to use "alloy".
And after I made up the word I thought it had a musical association:
metal as in heavy metal; mix as in mixing desk. Been listening
to the White Stripes, weird mix of metal and soul. Don't know what
that has to do with the poem, though.
Janet
> The flame licks and licks
> in its box, panting
> against the walls,
> the hard metalmix
> walls, ranting, wanting
> to light the sky
>
> Feed it, oxygenate it, fanfanfan it,
> shout at it, put books on it, you're going to have to!
>
> Bigger, faster, hot hot hotter!
> The metalmix melts!
> The flame billows up
> and lights the sky
>
> and the ice-chips in the eye
> liquefy.
