Young men (and women) *wherever* they are or from are susceptible to
becoming killers given the right enticements - a trade-skill, a pretty
uniform, a seeming way out of poverty and deadends etc etc. A lot of
the guys I knew back in the 70's and 80's in North Devon took the
shilling, some gladly. I almost took it myself.
Maybe some of them oversaw the Southern Watch operations over South
Iraq back in the early 90's when young USUK pilots were happily
offloading munitions onto Iraqis on a continuous basis for quite a
long time.
The original point seems too obvious.
