I'd forgotten one perhaps significant detail. Ida, the young girl
charged with caring for her baby sister, rescues the baby by blowing
what looks like a posthorn, thereby confounding the trolls. Shades of
Orpheus...but with a far happier ending. Ida retrieves her sister via
the horn, Orpheus just blows it.
